Introductions

Hey! I’m Carrie. I’m family nurse practitioner, an Air Force spouse and mom to two beautiful babes. I am passionate about life and my husband and I try to live BIG; traveling, working, eating, loving our kids, and trying to roll with the punches of military life.

I graduated in 2019 with a Masters of Science in Nursing. I passed my Family Nurse Practitioner boards in June of 2019! I love the Family NP route because I love all stages and ages. I definitely have a special place in my heart for kids, babies and families in general.

A former obstetrics RN, I love all things pregnancy, babies and breastfeeding. I am a fierce advocate for patient rights and choices. I loved helping Mamas succeed at their delivery and breastfeeding goals; whatever that looked like for them. I have a passion for carseat safety and education, as well.

I am a military spouse. My amazing husband is a pilot, and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy. He is hilarious, driven and hard-working. We try to keep our Air Force adventure just that, an adventure!

We met in Omaha, Nebraska after I graduated from my nursing program and he was stationed at Offutt AFB. Our love story is funny, silly and perfectly us. I was totally taken with this hunk of a man but had no intention of marrying him. Jokes on me apparently, because here we are 5 years, two moves, and two kids later.

We moved from Omaha, Nebraska to Del Rio, Texas in 2017 after my husband and I decided we’d like to see each other a bit more. His deployment tempo was high in Omaha. So, off to Laughlin Air Force Base we went. We’ve sincerely enjoyed the 3.5 years of no deploying, the warm winters and exploring the huge state of Texas!

We have two kernels, AJ (Alan John) and Ainsley. AJ is four. He is sweet, funny, silly and loving. Ainsley is two and is our spitfire; she is bold, snuggly and loves to sing. Raising children is the hardest job I have. These two wonderful humans love me on my good days and my bad. They’re my favorite parts of each day and I honestly dont know what life would be without them.

Our next adventure is set to commence in April as we move to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (Tinker AFB). We’re building a home, preparing for a PCS (permanent change of station) and prepping our kids for the move. Who didn’t need more stress in 2020? Ha! I’ll definitely be posting about the building process and the dream home we’re building.

Our favorite thing to do is travel. My family and I are rarely home. We love to travel when we can (bye, 2020!) and attempt to do so even with our two crazies in tow. We love flying, road trips and travel trailer adventures. Even in the chaos we never regret a trip with our kids. We believe traveling is a skill, and attempt to instill flexibilty and adventerousness in our kiddos.

I hope this blog can be informative, encouraging and fun for you! Follow along on our adventures! Welcome!
